Moving to Dublin – What You Need to Know + Life Update

Moving to Dublin – What You Need to Know + Life Update

In June we picked up our things from living in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada and made the move to Dublin. As with many of our adventures (Moving to Australia, buying a house, getting married, etc etc)  we did absolutely no planning and just threw ourselves head first into a new challenge fuelled only by naivety and positive thinking that things will. Just. Work. Out.

But this time… did it? (more…)

Turn an Old Bed Into a DIY Daybed and Save $1,000

Turn an Old Bed Into a DIY Daybed and Save $1,000

So we love beds. We want to live in our bed. And let’s be honest, we would all love to work, right from our bed. Why even leave?

Moral of the story. Getting out of bed suckssss.

So, to make transitioning out of bed easier for our lazy selves, we thought it would be easier (and more socially acceptable) if we could (more…)

11 Must Know Travel Tips for Down South All-Inclusive Resorts

11 Must Know Travel Tips for Down South All-Inclusive Resorts

It’s that time of year (April/May) when most Canadians get completely, BARREL-TO-THE-TEMPLE SICK of winter. The type of winter that every year, especially in Newfoundland, we forget how MIND-NUMBINGLY NEVER-ENDING it is…

With this in mind, literally most of us migrate YEARLY down south to Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico or other hot and spicy areas for a taste of that sweet sweet sun and sand.

For a low-cost averaging $1,000-$2,500 (or even lower as we’ll mention) an all-inclusive resort includes flights, an entire resort of pools, all you can drink bars, all you can eat restaurants and usually on a major (and often stunningly beautiful) tropical beach of white sand and jolly rancher blue coloured waters. It’s just far too hard to pass up…

For the newbies and even the veterans, here’s a reminder of the basic tips on how to make the most of your down south resort escape! (more…)

How To DESTROY Your House Making a Pallet Bed

Pallet beds look all fine and dandy #Organic #Zen #D.I.Y.Porn. But either nobody ever explained the surprise ISSUES that can result from making one, or we are just super unlucky. With our track record with this house lately, it just may be the latter…

A pallet bed is pretty simple to make and can be done in a number of ways. We’ll take you through how we made ours but then, MOST IMPORTANTLY, we’ll tell you just how badly we fucked it up in order to save you from maybe ruining your house like we may have. (more…)

What to Expect from Bali, Indonesia – Travel Tips – Part 1

What to Expect from Bali, Indonesia – Travel Tips – Part 1

The tropical island of Bali, a province in Indonesia, lies dead smack in the middle of the country’s string of islands. It is by far Indonesia’s most popular tourist spot and has gotten a lot of hype over the last few years thanks to, amongst other things, Julia Roberts.

But UNLIKE Eat, Pray Love Julia, we didn’t come here to live in a temple or take a longstanding vow of silence, OH NO…

Julia Queen Small Title

Yaaasss Julia Yaassss.

Relax. Party. Repeat. That was our Bali mantra. Very Zen of us we think. (more…)

When we went down, we had literally researched NOTHING (except for #3) and had NO idea about what to expect. This blog would have been a great start for research so we hope it finds you well. Let’s get started!

Video: 6 Steps For a Quickie New York Wedding

So with the goal of trying to keep things easy and simple, in 2014 we got married last minute during a weekend stopover in New York City on the way home to Canada from Australia for Christmas.
