After 6 years in Australia we have lots of information to share about life down under and we’ll be breaking it up into parts of 3-4 things at a time.
For some of you this information may help you get past any fears or barriers you may have (Like #3 for me, I wish I knew this before we went down) while others may just want to know more about a country that many of us know so little about.
When we went down, we had literally researched NOTHING (except for #3) and had NO idea about what to expect. This blog would have been a great start for research so we hope it finds you well. Let’s get started!

Soooo in 2016 we bought our first home!….which also happened to be a haunted house…YEP, the things you do for a deal, right?
We found a 70 year old (estimate because nobody actually knows) saltbox house in the heritage area of the small quiet town of Carbonear on the ocean in our home province of Newfoundland, Canada. (more…)

So with the goal of trying to keep things easy and simple, in 2014 we got married last minute during a weekend stopover in New York City on the way home to Canada from Australia for Christmas. At least we started out with the plan to keep things simple. A series of events lined up that ended up making the experience much bigger than planned including a Home Alone Theme (top film!), horse drawn carriages, wedding rings, an unexpected bachelor party and a spread in Marie Claire magazine?
